CHOLESTEROL

Cholesterol is fat produced by the body, and also comes from animal foods. These compounds help the body produce vitamin D, a number of hormones, and bile acids to digest fat. In appropriate levels, this is actually needed by the body to help build new cells so that the body can continue to function normally.

Apart from that, this compound is also needed by the body for digestive processes, hormone production, and to form vitamin D. However, if the levels are too high, then it is dangerous for the body because it will cause various diseases and complications.

Cholesterol prevention steps:

Implement a healthy diet. Limit consumption of foods that contain cholesterol and avoid consuming alcoholic beverages. Eat more vegetables, fruits and fish.
Lose excess weight. By losing weight, total cholesterol levels can also decrease.
Exercise regularly. Physical activity can improve cholesterol levels in the body. Try to exercise for 30-60 minutes every day. For example jogging, running, cycling, or swimming.
Stop smoking habit. Smoking can increase the risk of coronary heart disease and accelerate the buildup of plaque in the arteries.
